Dr.-Ing. Tim Schwartz (Project Leader)
Tim studied Computer Sciences and Computational Linguistics at the Saarland University. He joined DFKI in 2004 as a member of the Collaborative Research Centre SFB 378, Resource Adaptive Cognitive Processes, which was funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) . In 2005, he joined the follow-up project Transfer Unit 53 RENA (Resource Adaptive Navigation), where he built an indoor positioning system based on active RFID tags and infrared beacons. From 2009 to 2012, Tim was a member of the Cluster of Excellence – Multimodal Computing & Interaction at the University of Saarland, and was an associate member of the DFKI automotive group. In 2012 he received his doctoral grade with the thesis „The Always Best Positioned Paradigm for Mobile Indoor Applications“. Since October 2014 Michael Feld and Tim are leading the MADMACS project.
